The Arc-Solano is a private, non-profit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who, with the assistance of staff, plan and develop needed programs and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Alternatives in Curriculum and Training (ACT)

Alternatives in Curriculum and Training is a day training and activity program with a behavioral emphasis designed to meet the needs of the consumer with a dual diagnosis of developmental disability as well as a mental health disability. The program has been in operation since 1986 and is unique in this area.

Through its center-based small group interactions and individualized community activities, the ACT Program attempts to assist its consumers in becoming functioning members of society. Through proper preparation and support, we believe that the need for restrictive interventions can be reduced.

In addition to making behavioral changes, ACT consumers can learn to improve their interpersonal relationships, anger management, community access, and job-related skills.
